Phase One: ConsultationWe meet with facilities and find out about their current telecom system and their future needs. During this phase we audit the telecom infrastructure and the telecom budget of the facility. These consultations alone have yielded tens of thousands of dollars for our clients. Phase Two: RecommendationWe find the predominant telecom model employed by the Senior Healthcare industry today is that each resident has a direct telephone line provided by an outside provider – usually the local phone company. This is an inefficient use of telephone signal and we recommend the installation of an internal switching system for the facility. The facility will take control of their telecom asset and their system will operate much like a hotel with phone extensions. When a party calls the resident line, an automated attendant will direct them to the appropriate extension. Phone service, including long distance, is now a standing amenity on the residents’ monthly charge. Phase Three: Financial RealizationReducing the number of telephone lines employed by the facility reduces cost. Let us assume that there are 50 residents. Fifteen incoming telephone lines are more than enough to handle fifty residents (The chances are slim all residents will use the phone at the same time). The average market rate for an incoming telephone line is $40. Fifteen lines equates to $600 in total line cost. $600 divided by 50 residents equals $12 per resident. The facility charges $30 per month for phone and unlimited long-distance calling. The resident realizes tremendous savings and the facility makes an extra $18 per resident per month. This equates to over $10,000 per year in additional revenue. Phase Four: ImplementationTelecom Essentials employs the use of proprietary Panasonic technology and programming to serve both the resident and administrative functions of healthcare facilities. We are able to wire resident rooms with an analog signal so they need not obtain expensive digital phones. However, through the same system, we are able to provide digital service and high speed connections for the Facility’s administrative side. We offer a wide variety of residential phones, highly functional administrative sets, and mobile units for nursing staff and administrators alike. We are able to program systems for virtually any use or need. Voice mail, direct dial, internal paging, music-on-hold, are just a few of the many options available. |
